We did it! The ICD App was launched today and we had the honor of presenting the app to the director of the Dutch Heart Foundation, Floris Italianer during the largest cardiologists congress in the world, ESC. He stated that “together with others we seek solutions to prevent cardiovascular disease, reduce mortality and strengthen patients. We are happy to support people and initiatives for fighting with us here. This is a good example that is helpful for many people. When I heard of this great initiative, I felt that the Foundation had to give a helping hand to bring the app to as many people as possible.”
The ICD App is created specifically for cardiac patients with an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) and their families. It is intended to improve the quality of life of these patients. The ICD App features a practical handbook, relevant news and useful tools.
An ICD is an implantable defibrillator for people with a dangerous, unpredictable arrhythmia. The ICD restores normal heart rhythm and prevents cardiac arrest or even death.
The ICD App is available on iTunes for Iphone and Ipad and via the Google Play Store for Android. The mobile website can be accessed via the browser on a smartphone, go to www.icdapp.nl.
